Press Release Body = Ortho Evra is the first skin patch approved for birth control
contraceptive for women. This new sustained contraceptive made available from July
2002. Ortho Evra is a birth control patch approved by the Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) to warn healthcare provider that this product exposes women to
higher levels of estrogen than most birth control pills.

Ortho Evra skin patch birth control does not protect against HIV infection (AIDS)
and other sexually transmitted diseases, said Jennifer Gomes. It is advised that all
women using the Evra patch continue to use barrier methods, like condoms, to protect
from these infections.

Ortho Evra is relatively easy to use and especially for the ladies who have
difficulty remembering to take birth control pills regularly, said David Samuel. The
woman using Ortho Evra skin patch only needs to remember to change it three times a
month.

Dr. Pitter James say's that to requiring the minimal maintenance, the patch offer
some of the same non-contraceptive benefit found in other hormonal contraceptives
like more regular periods, less acne, fewer menstrual cramps, etc.

Ortho Evra patch applied to the skin. Efficacy studies for Evra are ongoing, but
initial evidence indicates that it is very effective; with correct usage, every year
less than 1% of women using the Evra patch may become pregnant.

The recent survey shows that the use of Ortho Evra has increased because of its easy
use, while woman wearing the patch, can maintain their daily activities like
bathing, swimming, including exercise, without dislodging the patch. Ortho Evra
allows for regular bleeding.

Ortho Evra is effective form of contraception for modern busy woman who have trouble
remembering to take a pill daily. However, the patch must be changed on the same day
of the week every week for greatest efficacy, said Dr. Mona Fernandez.
